Exclusive Heartland Tour - ex Port of Timaru / Oceania Regatta

 

Embark on a small group shore excursion from the port of Timaru. The tour begins with a brief journey inland to Peel Forest Park, offering an optional guided walk through a native forest, where you can admire ancient trees and listen to the birdsong.

As we venture into the High Country, you'll be captivated by the breathtaking landscapes, glacial valleys, and New Zealand's Southern Alps. The guide will share tales of early settlers, high country farms, and life from the past to the present. Enjoy opportunities to take photos, unwind, and savour an afternoon tea.

A special chance to see New Zealand's largest deer farm, along with sheep, cattle, and various game animals amidst a diverse landscape. Discover local galleries, museums, and boutique craft shops with your guide in their hometown of Geraldine. You might even taste some gin at an award-winning distillery before relaxing with a refreshment during a sheep shearing demonstration by a renowned New Zealand blade shearer. We then travel a short distance to return to the ship by 7pm.
