Handcrafted Nepali 2x 25ml Bottle Storage Box
These beautiful and durable storage boxes are made from eco-friendly Nepalese Lokta bark. They are made by a village paper co-operative in Jiri, Nepal. The co-op is part-owned by villagers, employs 80% local women and supports 126 families (over 1300 people lives are benefitted).
Lokta paper has been used for centuries for documents and scrolls as it is naturally resistant to tearing, humidity, moulding and insects. The Lokta bark is harvested sustainably and the paper is dyed using natural techniques.
Absolute Essential is part of a campaign to provide relief to this earthquake damaged region. We have helped to revive the local paper business by encouraging recovery through trade. Every box ordered helps to sustain paper production and ensure a more secure and dignified future for these craftspeople and their families.
